I am the youngest of 5, was a sporty child and teenager. My working life started in office/secretarial work and continued that way (having children in between) until training to be a midwife at age 36. 

That decision came about by, as a single mother, I wanted to provide for my children without having to rely on anyone else. Midwifery came from the desire to empower women to birth their babies and start motherhood strong.  I had attended a couple of births of friends and boom that was me.  There were certainly some naysayers and that just made me more determined. At that time I had 3 young children who, in my opinion, grew as much from this as I did. 

I have been divorced twice and am a single mum, grabbing life by the uterus again. After 12 years of midwifery, I decided to train as a transformational coach. I actually procrastinated about this decision for about 4 years. I had loads of excuses – no time, no money, not good enough (you know the drill). However, after thinking about it for so long I decided to jump in. No regrets. I still practice as a midwife and love running the two careers alongside each other. Birthing and rebirthing. And so was born the Midwife of Midlife! 

What have I learned along the way: It’s never too late, we’ll all be 75 one day whether we start the business, do the triathlon, sing on the stage, ask the boy or girl out or not. Why not slide into our 70’s knowing we’ve taken and created all those opportunities.  

As a coach, I work with women of midlife who want to make amazing changes, seeing and loving themselves for who they are, perhaps for the very first time. To help them step into their self worth and go out into the world and grab life!
